Discover Emerald Hills
Perched in the scenic hills above the Peninsula, Emerald Hills offers a picturesque blend of rolling terrain and majestic oak trees. From its heights, residents enjoy sweeping vistas that stretch from the Crystal Springs Reservoir and Woodside to Redwood City and the Santa Cruz Mountains. At one point the area was even promoted as a desirable resort destination thanks to its breathtaking natural beauty.
Emerald Hills spans three jurisdictions—Woodside, Redwood City, and unincorporated San Mateo County—resulting in a diverse mix of zoning laws, utility systems, and architectural styles. Homes range from cozy, older residences to expansive, newly built estates on lots typically between half an acre and a full acre.
Despite these differences, the area has preserved its rustic charm. Winding roads snake through the hills, horses can still be seen grazing on private properties, and nature remains a constant presence. On the Redwood City side, two serene lakes add to the neighborhood’s appeal, offering scenic views and private recreational opportunities for lucky nearby residents.
